Overview & Reviews
For 2003, the manual transmission is no longer available with the V6 engine.
- Roomy cabin, convertible version, reliable Camry genes, smooth engines.
- Expensive, two less doors but little added excitement, no manual offered with V6.

All flash, no dash - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara
By mysticwarrior - April 6 - 3:53 pmDont let the fact that the top goes down down fool you. Terrible JBL radio, lousy seats, lots of wind noise with the top up, busy HVAC controls, no stick, so so gas mileage, crappy center console is an elbow rest not an arm rest. Purchased this car for the wife cause she liked the way it looked with the top down, but after spending an hour driving it, she would rather drive her 10 year old jeep with 150,000 miles on it. This car may or not be reliable down the road, but its a lot to put up with just for the sake of reliability.

The Best Car I Have Had Yet - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara
By Love my car - March 29 - 10:00 amUsually it takes me a few weeks to get used to a new car. I felt completely comfortable with my Solara on the test drive.I dont even like to borrow cars because I am nervous, this just felt right. I still love it six months later. My husband wanted me to get a Toyota for about 20 years, I finally did and will never go back.

Awesome - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara
By No name - January 15 - 8:36 pmThis car is awesome. Fun to drive, easy to handle. Brakes last a long time compared to my 99 Camry) Gas mileage zipping around town and freeway is 27 mpg with the 4 cyl 2.0 L has just enough power for me. I think Toyota missed the boat not offering a 4 cyl convertible anymore. I was really disappointed by this when their new convertible design came out.

Safety issue-very bad blind spots - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara
By jeb - October 26 - 12:23 pmI love the car but do not drive it as much as I would like because of the safety issue. Extremely bad blind spots in trying to see what is behind you because of tall rear head seat supports and because of view from narrow rear window.

Bad Blind Spot & Sound, No trunk release - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara
By Thang Nguyen - September 6 - 2:06 pmDont take me bad, I really like the car for both performance and exterior design. However, blind spot is really big problem, you should buy extra blind spot mirror. Dont trust advertised JBL sound system, I give a 6 on 10 scale. No trunk release inside the car, very inconvenient. Also, you cant read the sound system face plate when there is sunny because of the weird angle.

Smoking - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara
By John Adcock - August 1 - 2:00 amThis car is totally impressive. Toyota just keeps them comming. The 4 cylendar with the 5 speed has all the power the you need and the comfort is unmatched. Quiet, tight, quick and very sleek. A real eye catcher too.

LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara
By MetalMovinMutha - February 13 - 10:00 amI previously owned a 2001 Nissan Xterra and decided to trade it for the 2002 Solara after one incredible 30 minute test drive! This car is simply incredible... great acceleration, comfort, good gas mileage, classy styling, ample room (especially for a 2- door), and the handling is great. It hugs the road like a grizzly bear. One of the reviews I read here said it didnt handle well... oh contrare. I did a 15mph curve today doing 45mph...staying in my lane, no fishtailing, no tire squeal. This car makes you feel like youre in the cockpit of a luxury F16 fighter jet... the only thing its lacking is wings. SIMPLY MARVELOUS

Solara - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara
By glam1 - January 18 - 6:00 pmStill chugging along at 120,000 miles. Reliable; no major repairs needed. Changed battery twice. Needed idle valve control cleaned about 5000 miles ago. Getting only about 20mpg, though.

I LOVE my Solara - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara
By fifi - January 2 - 3:06 amI bought my Solara brand new in 2003. It was the first brand new car Id purchased in about 25 years. I would not change a thing about this car. I absolutely love the way it handles, the way it looks and the fact that I havent had to do anything to it except regular maintenance. I intend to drive this thing until it falls apart. I am so happy I bought the 2003 model because I have been completely unimpressed with the newer body styles.
